Elevating the GVCA Building Excellence Awards with Acoustic Innovation
The Grand Valley Construction Association (GVCA) plays a vital role in fostering excellence within the construction industry, and I’m proud to be actively involved in supporting its initiatives. Through my role at Hewson Brothers Building Supply, I had the opportunity to contribute to this year’s GVCA Building Excellence Awards Gala by designing and constructing the Ace Your Acoustics Wall Display—a unique installation that combined innovation with engagement.
The Awards Gala, a Casino Royale-themed event, celebrated outstanding achievements in construction, bringing together industry leaders and professionals for a night of recognition and networking. To enhance the experience, we created a striking nametag board using Fräsch Acoustic Panels—a material known for both its aesthetic appeal and sound-absorbing properties. This custom-built display not only served a practical purpose but also introduced attendees to the benefits of acoustic solutions in modern building design.
By incorporating a QR code on the display, guests could easily access more information about Fräsch’s cutting-edge acoustic panels, reinforcing the importance of high-performance materials in today’s commercial and residential projects. The display stood as a testament to Hewson Brothers’ commitment to innovation and quality, sparking meaningful conversations about acoustics and design.
Being part of this initiative was an exciting way to blend creativity with industry expertise while supporting the GVCA’s mission to highlight excellence in construction. It’s always rewarding to see how small details—like a well-designed, functional display—can leave a lasting impression on an event and its attendees.
